01Who is asking

Spit Alles, 77 Wattle Road, Benoni AH, Benoni, Gauteng, 1509. You can reach us on +27 74 298 5566 or at orders@spitalles.co.za. We are the ones responsible for the personal information you give us, and we handle it in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, known as POPIA.

02What we collect

Only what we actually need to sell you a braai and get it to you:

• your name
• your email address and phone number
• your delivery address and billing address
• what you ordered, when, and what you paid
• anything you type into our contact form
• basic information about how you use this website, such as which pages you looked at

03Why we need it

To take your order, to get it delivered, to answer you when you contact us, and to keep the records that tax and company law require us to keep. We also use it to sort out a problem if something goes wrong with your order.

We will only send you marketing email if you have asked for it, and every one of those has an unsubscribe link that actually works.

04Your card details

We never see them. When you pay, you are handed to Yoco, a licensed South African payment provider, and your card number goes straight to them. It does not pass through this website and we do not store it anywhere.

05Who else gets to see it

A short list, and only what each one needs:

• the courier delivering your order, who gets your name, address and phone number
• Yoco, who processes your payment
• the company that hosts this website and the one that carries our email
• our accountant and SARS, where the law requires it

That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anybody for their own marketing.

06How long we keep it

Order records are kept for five years, because South African tax law requires it. Contact form messages are kept while we are still dealing with them and for a reasonable time afterwards. If you want your information removed and we are not legally required to keep it, say the word and we will delete it.

07Cookies

This site uses cookies to keep your shopping cart working while you move between pages, to keep you signed in if you have an account, and to understand roughly how people use the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but if you block them the cart will stop remembering what is in it.

08Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, and object to us using it. Email orders@spitalles.co.za and we will deal with it.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

09Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This version is dated 28 August 2026.
